Every morning (yes, even in summer), I wake up in the morning and wrap myself in an oversized hand knitted shawl. During the winter months, shawls make my favorite scarves and on a late summer’s evening, there is nothing like the comfort and warmth of a favorite shawl to keep the cooling temperatures at bay.
In this list of Shawl Knitting Patterns, you will find four categories of shawls. Savour them all by scrolling slowly or click and choose your favorite categories below. Enjoy!

Deep Ocean Shawl
The Deep Ocean Shawl by Violet LeBeaux is one of my favorite patterns on this list of shawl knitting patterns. It is described as a shawl for knitters who love short rows and it is a very unique triangle shawl because it’s knit from side to side and not from top to bottom.
The waves on the Deep Ocean Shawl are defined using purl stitches and you have a choice to knit the small size (27.5″) or large size (54.5″), with the measurement taken on the longest side. The shawl above is knit using a skein of Knit Pick’s Stroll Tonal and one of Stroll Gradient.
