I love to watercolor during the spring and I’m especially inspired to paint florals when everything is coming into bloom. Creativebug has a number of incredible painting workshops to inspire and teach you just how to recreate the flora and fauna you see in photographs or out in your garden!
Daily Painting Challenge: 31 Flowers to Paint
Creativebug is one of the happiest places in the world for crafters and the Daily Painting Challenge: 31 Flowers to Paint with acclaimed artist Yao Cheng is one of my favorite classes on their site. The finished pieces look beautiful hung around our home throughout the spring and summer and I even plan on creating a set of floral greeting cards for friends and family this year using the new skills I’ve acquired.
During the Daily Painting Challenge: 31 Flowers to Paint you will learn to paint a new flower every day for one month. You’ll learn how to to master the brush strokes needed to recreate popular flowers like dahlias, poppies, peonies and hydrangeas. You’ll also discover new color combinations and how to capture the light, energy and feeling of the flowers you recreate.
Full Disclosure:
I failed art in high school (true story) and I still came out of this class feeling confident and proud of the flowers I had created. I’m telling you this in case you’ve been told that you “can’t do art.” You definitely can and Creativebug will help get you there!
