As I sit here at the end of August, watching the days get shorter and temperatures begin to drop, I start to daydream about the scarves I will crochet. There is nothing like wrapping yourself in layers of cozy stitches that not only look good, but protect you from the wind and winter cold.
In this post I feature my favorite Classic Crochet Scarf Patterns, Crochet Infinity Scarf Patterns, Easy Crochet Scarf Patterns, Lacy Crochet Scarf Patterns and Trendy Crochet Scarf Patterns.
Thank you for being here! Happy Hooking!
Classic Crochet Scarf Patterns
The rectangular shape of the traditional crochet scarf pattern serves as the perfect canvas for bold colors, textures, designs and yarn weights. Check out these Classic Crochet Scarf Patterns from 5 incredibly talented designers:
Springtime Granny Scarf Crochet Pattern
I can’t hear the word crochet without thinking of granny squares, so why not begin with the FREE Springtime Granny Scarf Crochet Pattern by Melissa Pring. Melissa assures that the scarf can be crocheted quickly and easily by repeating just a few rows multiple times.
Melissa also includes a tutorial for creating the tassels that you’ll attach at the very end. The pattern’s detailed photographs and clear instructions are well thought out and I am confident that no crocheter will be left behind when creating the Springtime Granny Scarf Crochet Pattern.
Melissa Pring designed the Springtime Granny Scarf Crochet Pattern Scarf using James C. Brett DK Weight Yarn. I love James C. Brett Marble DK and James C. Brett Dotti DK:
Here are 2 additional classic crochet scarf patterns from designers Keilah Fok and My Crochet Space:
Primrose & Proper Super Scarf
Kirsten Holloway is one of my favorite designers on LoveCrafts. Her online shop is filled with some of the most romantic and feminine knit and crochet designs I’ve ever seen and Primrose & Proper Super Scarf is no exception.
The Primrose & Proper Super Scarf by Kirsten Holloway is a stunning scarf that measures 8 feet long when complete. If you’re familiar with the following stitches: chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch then you should have no problem with Kirsten’s pattern.
The Primrose & Proper Super Scarf is designed using Worsted Weight Wool. Kirsten uses Red Heart With Love Solids. For a wool alternative, check out WeCrochet’s Swish Worsted:
Here is another divine crochet scarf pattern by Kirsten Holloway called Cranberry Twist Scarf as well as the classic Triple Panelled Crochet Scarf by Tara Schreyer:

The infinity scarf took the fiber world by storm and it’s in no danger of losing popularity now. There are sooooo many incredible Crochet Infinity Scarf Patterns that I had a hard time choosing between them, but here are 9 that captured my attention (and my heart!):
Cobblestone Road Infinity Scarf
This has to be my favorite Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern. The Cobblestone Road Infinity Scarf by Tara Schreyer. It includes a chart and photographs to help you along the way and the stitches include: single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.
Tara recommends a sportweight yarn such as Knit Picks Andean Treasure, Galileo or Brava Sport:

At the end of your project you will whip stitch or mattress stitch the open ends together and Mary offers an email address should you need pattern support at any time.
The yarn featured in the photograph is Knit Picks Stroll Glimmer which has been discontinued, but why not snag one of these Knit Picks Stroll Value Packs and have some fun with your color changes!
